Saving, autosave and recovery
Your work is a .pack project; ChewPack also keeps a recovery copy in case it crashes.
Where
- File › Save font (Ctrl+S)
- File › Save font as… (Ctrl+Shift+S)
A ChewPack font is saved as a .pack project file. It holds everything: outlines, metrics, kerning, features, masters and font info. Fonts you export (TTF, OTF, WOFF2…) are made from the project; keep the .pack to keep editing.
While you work, ChewPack keeps an autosave copy in the background. If the app or Windows crashes, the next start offers to recover it. A normal close clears the autosave.
