Near-miss alignment check
Points that sit 1–3 units off a metric line are flagged: slips you can't see by eye.

A point 2 units below the x-height is almost always a mistake, and invisible on screen. ChewPack finds points that sit almost on a metric line or overshoot edge (about 3 units at 1000 UPM) and marks them on the canvas, in the Inspector ("2 units below the x-height"), in the Needs a check smart list, and when you check the font. Points along a sloped part of a curve are left alone, since they're never meant to sit on a line.
It's a warning, never an error: some designs miss a line on purpose.
